Things to know

Please read the following page carefully before making your booking.

• Check-in 15:00 to 21:00, Check out before 13:00
• Two guests maximum
• Not suitable for children age 0 – 12
• If the sofa bed is to be made up, please request this at booking
• No smoking or lit candles – battery candles provided
• A fire lighting safety demonstration is mandatory for guests who wish to use the solid fuel range
• Strictly no pets due to free range hens and neighbouring livestock.
• Registered service dogs welcome
• No parties, events, or commercial photography
• Quiet hours 23:00h to 07:00h
• Soft music and singing welcomed in the guest garden prior to 23:00 but no loud music please!

Things to note

• High visibility gear is highly recommended if walking on the roads after dusk. Please phone for rescue if night is falling and you are not equipped to be seen.
• Lifts to and from Whitegate and Mountshannon can be provided with minimum of 10 hours’ notice.
• There is a wild honey bee colony living in the roof of the guest house! They have been there for over 10 years and are very docile. We don’t bother them and they don’t bother us, but guests who are afraid of bees or allergic should take this into consideration.
• 2 of the 6 cats are super friendly and love beds, food, and company more than anything else in the world. They are not allowed into The Bird’s Nest (in case of future guests with allergies) so please make every gentle effort to keep them out!
